Astrology is the oldest science known to man and there is evidence of its use in all civilisations. A chart or a horoscope can be understood as a blueprint of someone’s life although freedom of will exists and the chart will talk only of potential, it is not set in stone. There are two types of charts, natal shows the unique moment that the individual [we call the individual the native] is born while the progression chart shows the future and how progressing aspects can affect the native’s potential. However, the natal chart is only significant until approx 30 years of age as at this time we need to take into account the first Saturn return and the natal chart will then present a mirror image of itself.
The Saturn return denotes a time when all life’s lessons have been offered to the native and [s]he has either dealt with them ….. or not as the case maybe, after this point they will be offered again and again in a different guise until they are dealt with. This situation can last through many lifetimes hence my strong belief in regression.
The beginning of the astrological year is Aries, approx mid March to mid April, and ends with Pisces, approx mid February to mid March. These sun signs denote the twelve houses around the chart and rule the various planets which create the aspects. Described loosely, the houses denote the area of life, the planets as a symbol of forces working within us, they are the drives of our unconsciousness and are not necessarily good or bad but necessary to all life. The aspects link everything else together to show how we view different situations.
There are many specialisations in Astrology, as many as there are facets of life from romance to financial, from individual to the astrology of towns and cities, from when to begin a new venture to how to deal with an old one. Astrological advice should always be taken from a qualified astrologer to avoid misunderstandings.
